At about 3:57 PM EST (20:57 UTC), our Sys Admins confirmed the all clear with our data center. The networking issues are now resolved. We'll provide a full post-mortem when we have the information. At this time, we have confirmed with our data center that there was a networking problem that was not picked up by their monitoring. We have been assured to not expect a recurrence of the problem.

At about 3:40 PM EST (20:40 UTC), our network performance returned to normal. We're on the phone with the data center now. We'll provide another update shortly as learn more.

We're putting together the evidence of the problem(s). At the moment we're seeing a variety of packet loss at our data center.
